Grant checklists are designed to prevent omissions, not to replace the story of how funds will be used. Applicants who treat every checkbox as an isolated task often submit a complete file that still feels disconnected.
Start from the milestone calendar, then attach budget lines that spend against those dates. When a line item appears without a corresponding activity, reviewers ask whether the cost is speculative.
Declarations and conflict-of-interest forms deserve the same attention as the budget. An unsigned page can stall an otherwise careful submission for weeks.
A short completeness check before filing is not a substitute for programme design; it simply confirms that the narrative and the exhibits still point at the same plan.
